- What experience stands out to you from SIAL Paris 2024?
The highlight was seeing our Zero-Carb Sushi Base capture the attention of buyers, journalists, and chefs from every continent. It confirmed to us that we had created something both unique and globally relevant.
- Did you notice a “SIAL Innovation effect” following your participation and award?
Absolutely. The award opened doors at the highest level. Since SIAL, our product has entered the largest national supermarket selections, alongside dozens of sushi operators and largest HoReCa distributors. We have already sold hundreds of thousands of KIKO units and received media coverage in more than 60 international articles. Nordic’s largest daily newspaper featured a full interview with me as founder.
- In your view, what makes your brand successful today?
We are offering exactly what the consumer is asking for: delicious, healthy, and ecological food. KIKO Sushi Base is indulgent yet nearly calorie-free, rich in fiber, eco-friendly, and convenient. It is a modern all-diets staple – suitable for vegan, keto, gluten-free, and everything beyond – truly for everyone.
- How are you evolving your business model to stay competitive?
We are scaling production with four new facilities already built, while keeping the model modular and energy efficient. All our operations run on 100% wind power. We have achieved Organic certification, the Domestic Heart Symbol, gluten-free and vegan V-label certifications, and already secured two EFSA health claims. Halal and Kosher certification remain in progress to make KIKO a truly universal product. This positions us not only as an innovator, but also as a frontrunner in defining the future of low-energy staple foods.
- Looking back, what do you take away from your SIAL Paris experience?
SIAL gave us global credibility. It turned a promising innovation into a validated success story and connected us with an international network that continues to support our growth.
- Can we count on seeing you again at SIAL Paris 2026?
Yes – without a doubt. We see SIAL as our natural stage. For SIAL Innovation 2026, if you are looking for a proven success story to showcase, KIKO King Konjac is the perfect mannequin: the product embodies taste, health and ecology in one, and has already shown how an award can have an international impact.
- In 2026, SIAL Innovation will celebrate its 30th anniversary and be at the very heart of SIAL Paris – do you already have an innovation in the works that could take part in the competition?
Yes. We are working on the next generation of low-energy staple foods that will complement our sushi base. Just like our award-winning Zero-Carb Sushi Base, they will push the boundaries of indulgence, health, and sustainability. We would be honored to present them at SIAL Innovation’s 30th anniversary edition.
