Can you tell us about the upcoming 2025 edition of Salon Gourmet Selection?
The 2025 edition is set to break records, both in terms of floor space and the number of exhibitors. There will be 360 exhibitors representing more than 500 brands, a 20% increase on 2024. The 4,500 visitors expected will find a wide range of quality products, organised by category, enabling them to prepare their orders, diversify their point-of-sale offering and discover new innovations.

Gourmet Selection has identified 10 major trends in fine foods. Will trade visitors find products that meet these trends?
Absolutely. With more than 10,000 products on display at the stands, trade professionals will be able to find everything they need to cater to their customers' demands.

We won't list these 10 trends here, but to give you an example, in response to the return to traditional products and nostalgic flavours, 13 regions of France will be present either in pavilions or on individual stands.

The hunger for discovering flavours from around the world will be satisfied by the presence of 17 countries. Some countries, such as Italy, Spain, Belgium, Cambodia, Lebanon, the USA and the United Kingdom, are exhibiting as usual. However, we also have some newcomers with a stronger presence, such as Armenia, Colombia, Korea, Ivory Coast, Ethiopia, Greece, Japan and Madagascar.

Another example is the boom in non-alcoholic beverages, where visitors will find a wide variety of brands with original offerings, some of which are winners of the Best Of 2025 competition.

What are the main changes or developments for the 2025 edition?
First of all, one of the first changes that has already been seen by our entire community is a redesign of the show's visual identity.

Our goal is to modernise the image of the show by incorporating the codes of quality grocery stores and keeping pace with developments in the sector. Among the changes, we have also created a special offering for young companies starting out in the sector. At the show, professionals will find 13 promising brands grouped together at the Place des Comptoirs, offering biscuits, condiments, hot drinks and more.

This space complements the Sentier des Découvertes (Discovery Trail), which our loyal visitors have been exploring for many years and which is also reserved for companies offering new products. For 2025, there are nearly 60 brands to discover.

Another significant change: the Les Quintessences competition has become the Concours de La Meilleure Epicerie de France (Best Grocery Store in France Competition).

The 2025 edition recognised six grocers from across France for the originality of their concept, the quality of their sourcing and the promotion of their products.

The Gold Medal went to a delicatessen specialising in Italian products located in Saint-Cyr-sur-Loire, near Tours.

However, given the high quality of the entries, the jury awarded two new prizes: Best Newcomer to Epicerie d'Emilie (Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes) and Rural Grocery Store to Bien & Bon (Nouvelle Aquitaine).

Visitors can take advantage of their time at the show to learn and educate themselves. What have you put in place?
We have partnerships with professional organisations, in particular Saveurs Commerce and the Fédération des Epiciers de France.

With the Epiciers de France, this year we organised a number of events ahead of the show (two lunches in Bordeaux and Lyon to meet grocers, webinars to discuss current topics) and at the show itself, there will be two sessions in particular that will address the revitalisation of regions through the establishment of grocery stores, which are real local shops and social hubs, and another on cost control.

These two round tables will take place at the Agora des Experts, a space that will host presentations over the two days on a variety of topics such as merchandising tips, how a business can evolve in line with its customers' trends, the art of selling Italian products, industry trends, food photography and even AI as a sales tool.

Another highlight: the Best Of Competition, its winners... and a new partnership with Galeries Lafayette Le Gourmet?
The Best Of Competition honours the creativity and audacity of fine food artisans while respecting criteria related to quality, taste, natural ingredients, uniqueness and innovation.

It seemed logical to us to form a partnership with Galeries Lafayette Le Gourmet, which shares the same values as the show in terms of expertise and high standards. Two judges from Galeries Lafayette Le Gourmet therefore created their own selection, offering the six winning artisans the opportunity to be listed and showcased from time to time in their prestigious Parisian shop.

In total, the Best Of 2025 competition recognised 19 products, all of which will be available to discover and taste at the Gourmet Selection trade show on 21 and 22 September.
