Les Délices de la Mer, a subsidiary of Groupe Le Graët, has won the Feef d’Or 2025 for its ReUse initiative, highlighting innovation, sustainability and responsible food industry practices.

Rooted in Brittany, Groupe Le Graët has built its reputation as a major player in the French food industry. Over the decades, the family-owned group has expanded into a wide range of activities, including seafood trade, frozen products, pet food, and canned goods. Despite this diversification, its companies remain closely connected to the region and to one another through shared values of solidarity, simplicity, and high standards.

Much of the group’s production is dedicated to supermarket own-brand ranges, but innovation and responsiveness remain central to its strategy. This ability to combine industrial performance with respect for local origins has helped its subsidiaries carve out a strong position in both domestic and export markets. Groupe Le Graët is also recognised for its commitment to sustainable practices, whether through sourcing, packaging, or reducing environmental impacts.

Les Délices de la Mer: innovation rooted in tradition

Among its subsidiaries, Les Délices de la Mer stands out for its expertise in seafood, vegetable, and sauce preserves. The company produces a wide selection of soups, bisques, spreads, sauces, and gourmet preparations that highlight seafood and vegetable ingredients sourced from local suppliers. Its fish, for example, comes directly from the group’s seafood division, ensuring freshness, traceability, and a strong link with Breton fishing communities.

Flexibility is one of the company’s hallmarks, with production facilities capable of handling various packaging formats such as glass jars, tins, and doypacks. This versatility allows Les Délices de la Mer to meet the needs of supermarkets, food service operators, and specialist retailers. At the same time, the company has integrated a strong CSR dimension into its operations. Glass and metal, both infinitely recyclable, are used to reduce plastic waste; investments are made to cut energy consumption; and sourcing priorities are aligned with certifications such as MSC and ASC. With IFS top-level certification, Les Délices de la Mer positions itself as a responsible partner for distributors seeking quality and transparency.

Recognition for the ReUse initiative

This commitment to responsibility and innovation was recently rewarded when Les Délices de la Mer received the Feef d’Or 2025 for its ReUse initiative. The award, presented by the Fédération des Entreprises et Entrepreneurs de France (FEEF), honours the most successful collaborations between SMEs and retail distribution. Now in its 27th edition, the Feef d’Or has become a benchmark in celebrating projects that combine innovation with environmental and social value.

The ReUse initiative introduces a deposit-return scheme for fish soup bottles, developed in partnership with Coopérative U and Citeo. Instead of being thrown away, the glass bottles are collected, returned, and reused. By giving packaging a second life, the programme reduces waste, promotes a circular economy, and actively involves consumers in the sustainability journey. The jury highlighted ReUse as a concrete demonstration of how SMEs can lead the way in reshaping industry practices.

A model for future growth

For Les Délices de la Mer, the recognition confirms the company’s broader strategy of embedding CSR into every stage of its value chain, from sourcing to packaging and distribution. It also reflects Groupe Le Graët’s vision of combining regional roots with forward-looking innovation.

Receiving the Feef d’Or 2025 strengthens the reputation of both the company and the group as committed players in the agri-food sector. By aligning economic performance with environmental progress, Les Délices de la Mer shows how tradition and innovation can work together to create a more sustainable future for the food industry.
