It’s a raw sauce, a mixture in wich the ingredients are cold blended, not cooked.

The essential ingredients are basil, oil, pine nuts, garlic and Grana Padano cheese.

More info

To safeguard the freshness and the organoleptic characteristics of the raw materials, and to have full control of the productive chain, Frantoio Venturino in the 2010 has implemented a fresh basil production line by which in the Summer season produces in-house a semifinished product ( a mixture of basil, oil and salt) using fresh basilico Genovese PDO. The semifinished product could be immediately destinated to the pesto production or placed in the cold stores to be used in productions outsides the Summer season.

The ingredients of the Pesto with basilico Genovese PDO - without Garlic - F.lli Semeria, are all of very high quality like the Extra Virgin olive oil and the basilico Genovese PDO, bought from supplier friends who have their fields near our production site. In the version without garlic, in response to a growing demand of the Italian consumer, the recipe do not contain Garlic. The parfum and the intense flavour of fresh basil, as well as the typical brilliant colour of the F.lli Semeria Pesto, are the result of the quality of the used raw materials but also of the fine-tuning of a production process that does not provide any pasteurization (process that gives stress to all the raw materials, with negative consequences for the taste, flavour and colour), without risks for the consumer and that ensures a shelf-life of 16 months.

Fratelli Semeria

F.lli Semeria was born in 1980 thanks to Celeste Semeria in a little oil mill sited in Pontedassio, typical suburb of the Imperia’s hinterland. A little later, Fratelli Semeria, becomes a point of reference for the production and packaging of high quality extra virgin olive oil, the famous Imperia Hinterland ‘s pure olive oil .

Between the first and the second world war, Celeste’s sons (Giovanni Battista, Stefano and Francesco) have moved the Company to the center of Imperia Oneglia, which has been for many years the capital of olive oil, (where 300 warehouses were working in the trade of the famous yellow gold), with distribution in Italy and abroad.

The Semeria’s third generation family (Roberto and Valerio) manage the firm until 2012 when the trademark is bought by the Venturin Family.

The Fratelli Semeria trademark was restyled at the end of 2015, and under this brand the Company produces and distributes delicacies of the ligurian tradition like pesto, pate and olives, extra virgin olive oil, olive oil and sunflower oil.
