Detailed description
Gymnos Vasilias The Naked King, is the flagship red of the estate, a distinctive blend of Syrah (85%) and the rare indigenous Kolindrino (15%) from low-yielding vineyards in the foothills of Mount Olympus. Aged for 24 months in French oak, it is a structured and expressive wine, combining depth, precision and a strong sense of place.
Rich and full-bodied, with layers of dark fruit, cocoa and sweet spice, supported by refined tannins and remarkable balance. The finish is long and persistent, with the structure and complexity to evolve beautifully over time.

Blend
85% Syrah
15% Kolindrino
Vinification
The wine is produced from grapes grown at very low yields, achieving exceptional concentration, depth and intensity of fruit. Extended maceration allows for a slow and thorough extraction of colour, tannins and phenolic compounds, contributing to the wine’s powerful structure and remarkable complexity.
Ageing
The wine is matured for 24 months in French oak barrels, with approximately 35% new oak. This prolonged ageing enhances its depth, structure and aromatic complexity, allowing the concentrated fruit, tannins and oak to integrate gradually and harmoniously.
Winemaking Philosophy
Gymnos Vasilias is conceived as a wine of remarkable concentration, richness and depth. Very low vineyard yields, extended maceration and prolonged barrel ageing shape a powerful yet balanced wine, with layers of concentrated dark fruit, subtle bittersweet nuances and distinctive notes of dark chocolate.
Its generous structure and refined tannins lead to a long, complex and persistent finish.
