Technical Characteristics – Vietnam Cashew Nuts (Prosi Thăng Long)

1. Whole Cashew Kernels (White Whole – W)

• W180: 326–395 nuts/kg (140–180 nuts/lb), whole shape, white natural color
• W210: 395–465 nuts/kg (180–210 nuts/lb), whole shape, white natural color
• W240: 465–530 nuts/kg (210–240 nuts/lb), whole shape, white natural color
• W320: 660–706 nuts/kg (300–320 nuts/lb)
• W450: 880–990 nuts/kg (400–450 nuts/lb)

2. Other Grades

• SW240, SW320: Scorched whole cashews
• WS (White Splits): Cashew kernel naturally split lengthwise — W stands for "White," S stands for broken "Splits"
• SP (Small Pieces): Cashew broken into small pieces
• LP (Large Pieces): Larger broken cashew pieces
• DW (Dessert Wholes): Whole cashews with light scorching/blemishes

3. Roasted Cashew (Value-Added Product)

• Salted Roasted Cashews: Made from pure cashew kernels combined with pure salt, then roasted and mixed to enhance taste
• Available in whole kernel sizes such as roasted W180, W210, W240, W320
• Processing options: salt roasting, oil roasting, or flavor coating (e.g., honey, chili, wasabi, spiced varieties)
• Also offered unsalted/natural roasted for health-focused buyers

Quality standard: As per AFI (American Food International) standard

Processing: Sorted and inspected using color sorter machines, metal detector machines, and X-ray machines to meet international quality requirements

Storage/Preservation: Kept in a dry, clean place away from heat sources; storage area is closed, dry, clean, free from foreign smell, insects, and rodents

Packing: Flexi/vacuum plastic bags or tin box, then loaded into carton boxes — each carton 22.68 kg net, 700 cartons per 20ft container (approx. 15,876 kg/cont)
