was founded in the 1960s in Urbania. Here, inside the premises of an old tavern facing the town’s municipal tower, Domenico Longhi established a small truffle business, gathering the precious harvest of the local hunters known as the “Tartofaner”. While a portion of the harvest was sold to local restaurants, the finest selection traveled by train to the markets of Rome, Milan, and Genoa.Today, the company is led by Domenico’s heirs: his son, Ravaldo, and his granddaughters, Michela and Nicoletta. Thanks to their vision, Longhi’s fresh truffles and preserved specialties now reach Europe, Japan, Asia, and the Americas.The search for truffles still relies today on the unbreakable bond between man and dog: the hunter’s experience identifies the ideal trees, while the animal’s infallible scent unearths the precious tuber. For decades, the company has partnered with a trusted network of local truffle hunters who deliver the fruits of their daily harvest. Despite international expansion, the selection of fresh truffles is still personally overseen by Ravaldo and Michela.Truffles not destined for the fresh market are handcrafted into specialty products following ancient family recipes, perfect for fine dining or original gift boxes. The true hallmark of Longhi is its artisanal excellence.
