With the rise of poverty in 1984, several charities joined together to adapt the US Food Bank model to French requirements by creating the very first Banque Alimentaire in Paris.
SIAL has respected this commitment since 1986, by maintaining its partnership with the food banks.

In partnership with the French Red Cross based in Seine St-Denis, SIAL collects any food products not taken back by exhibitors.
