A club for leading innovative brands

The primary concern of SIAL, the world reference in food innovation, has always been to bring together innovative wine brands under its roof. Created in 2007, the Wine Innovation Forum steering committee assembles major wine players from the wine sector to find responses to the challenges of the future, develop market share and acquire new consumers through better knowledge of drinking modes and habits, in compliance with public health legislation.

The Club de Grandes Marques innovantes – chaired by Yves Bénard, in turn Chairman of the OIV (International Organisation of Vine and Wine) and INAO (organisation regulating French PDOs) wine commission – is composed of managers from the Chapoutier, Louis Jadot, Gérard Bertrand, Dourthe–Kressmann, Jaillance, Domaines Lapalu, Producteurs Plaimont, and Château Roubine wine houses in addition to partners such as Sopexa and Vin & Société. The Club has rapidly expanded to include leading European groups, including Torrès & Chivite in Spain, Sogrape in Portugal, and Grupo Italiano di Vino in Italy.

A responsible brand charter

These major wine players together have established a “Responsible Brand Charter” whereby they undertake to comply with a code of conduct encompassing sustainability, sharing equitably the value developed throughout the channel (upstream, employees and distribution), reputation and influence in society at large (educating the public on responsible drinking and the value of taste, ensuring social and cultural involvement for the brand, and establishing strong regional roots and presence).
