The SIAL d’Or, created in 1986, are organised in partnership with 30 international trade magazines from the food industry and retail press.
A SIAL d’Or pinpoints and highlights the innovations that have become major commercial successes in the domestic markets of each of the 30 countries represented.
Products compete for selection by the jury in 9 categories: savoury grocery products, sweet grocery products, fresh non-dairy products, fresh dairy products, savoury frozen foods, sweet frozen foods, non-alcoholic beverages, alcoholic beverages (excluding wine), and wine.
"All products, both nominated and award winners, are exhibited in the SIAL d’Or area, providing retail buyers with an overall view of successful product launches in 30 countries.
The members of the jury will elect SIAL d’Or by category and the SIAL d’Or by country in May 2012 in Paris.
A Global SIAL d'Or, the supreme recompense, will be disclosed at the official SIAL d'Or award ceremony, held during the exhibition.
